We supplied them with music for their ceremony as well as their reception. The ceremony had to be moved to a nearby chapel at short notice due to the rain affecting the preferred ceremony venue at Maroupi. The chapel was given a lovely touch of purple decor and the guests were given colourful flower petals to throw at the newly weds. The bridal march chosen by the couple was a beautiful acoustic version which can be listened to on YouTube.
The reception was held at a brilliant new venue called Maroupi. This was only the third wedding held there so far apparently, however the service from the venue was excellent. The venue was very clean and tidy with wonderful modern finishes. The decor looked amazing and the great space of the venue was used quite creatively with the focal point being the dance floor.
The evening was punctuated with some comical speeches and there was 'audience participation' throughout. The food was absolutely delicious and everyone was given delightful little picnic boxes filled with an assortment of cheeses, biscuits, spreads and more! We enjoyed our little hampers through until Sunday. The guests danced to an assortment of Afrikaans and commercial music chosen by the couple.
The official photographs of this wedding were taken by the masterful Neil Cuninghame. He was great to work with and we hope to see him at another KZN wedding in the near future. To see his work, visit his website.
